Light scattering from coupled plasmonic nanospheres on a substrate: erratum

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We correct a statement in J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 30, 2215 (2013) [CrossRef]  , which can be misleading when a substrate is present. The numerical results presented in J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 30, 2215 (2013) [CrossRef]   are consistent with the revised statement.

Below Eq. (1) in Ref. [1], the statement “E0(r)=eik0re0 is the incident electric field (a three dimensional vector)” should be replaced by the following:

E0(r) is the electric field in the absence of scatterers, which takes the form E0j(r)=T0jeik0r+R0jeik0r, where k0 (k0) is an incident (reflected) wave vector in the ambient. [(k0)z=(k0)z] R0j and T0j denote the j-component (j=x,y,z) reflection and transmission coefficients for the multilayer system without scatterers.
