Abstract

Simulation of wave propagation through the atmosphere has been studied by numerous researchers. [1–3] Recent efforts in creating an accurate model of wave propagation through one or many phase screens are reviewed. In particular, we compare two recent optics simulation suites, one written in Matlab by Jason Schmidt [4] and the other written in Python by Jeffrey Beck, Celina Bekins, and Jeremy Bos. [5] Considering the difficulties and attention to proper configuration, we thought a review of recent simulation frameworks was warranted.
