Abstract
A new optical structure with two identical micro-lens arrays (MLAs) has been found useful in simplifying the gradient field extraction of an arbitrary wave. In particular, it speeds up the efficiency of decoding and localizing special structures embedded in an arbitrary optical wave. We use a generalized Quadrant Fourier Transform concept to explain for the mechanism of the device. Furthermore, we show that micro-structured optics will be able to perform complex algorithms in optical computing in the near future, which will also be beneficial for adaptive optics study.
