Optical Eigenmodes in Atmospheric Turbulence

Abstract

We study optical eigenmodes in a turbulent atmosphere. From the eigenvalue statistics we identify highly transmitting eigenmodes. Furthermore, we investigate the spatial structure and stability of these modes for a broad range of turbulence conditions.
