Low-loss Tunable Beam Magnification with a Light-Shaping Diffuser and an Adaptive Lens

Abstract

We present a novel approach of obtaining low-loss collimated beams of tunable diameters by employing a tunable-focus lens pair and a light-shaping diffuser to achieve low-loss, active beam diameter tunability requiring no bulk optical motion.
