Abstract

Foggy and cloudy conditions, are considered to be a serious problem for the assimilation of the use of LIDAR and imaging sensors into autonomous mobile platforms. Our work explores, both theoretically and experimentally, how the consideration of the polarization state affects the performance of such systems for autonomous platforms in low visibility conditions.
