Optimal Beams and Minimizing Scintillation

Abstract

Computation of optical beams which minimize scintillation is a difficult challenge. Here, a computationally feasible method is described, and scintillation-minimizing beams are shown to have very weak intensity. Optimization should consider both scintillation and intensity.
