Modal Identification and Characterization of Strong Turbulence Propagation

Abstract

An identifying mode associated with strong turbulence measured by a Hartmann wavefront sensor is described and validated with field data from the Starfire Optical Range Turbulence Sensor. Rytov dependence is illustrated with wave optics simulation.
