Scintillation index of a laser beam having the initial orbital angular momentum in the turbulent atmosphere

Abstract

The asymptotic analysis and numerical simulation revealed that the scintillation index of laser beams having the initial orbital angular momentum and propagating in the slightly turbulent atmosphere increases at the beam axis starting from the unit value as the intensity of atmospheric turbulence increases.
