Abstract
This program was designed to obtain atmospheric transmission data from high altitude, in the 1 to 12 μ region, and to measure the solar radiation spectrum in the same region. Mixing ratios, water to total atmospheric gases, at 11 km (35,000 ft) and 20 km (65,000 ft) altitude indicate a stratum of humid air above 20 km. A ground spectrum, an 11 km spectrum, and a 20 km spectrum are compared to a solar envelope constructed from available data.
