Optical Fiber-Stripline-Coupler

Abstract

A device for coupling a glass fiber to a stripline of an integrated optical device is described. The adjustment is sufficiently precise to connect single-mode waveguides. In the case of single-mode fiber-fiber-connections, coupling efficiencies between 85% and 95% were measured.
