Active imaging system: a long range scanned laser

Abstract

An active imaging system has been developed that utilizes a scanned Nd–YAG laser beam for target illumination. Images obtained at distances up to 1.5 km using different signal processing methods are shown. A new technique of generating a 3-D display is presented.
