Information scanning technology: applications of cw AlGaAs injection lasers

Abstract

The suitability of cw room-temperature injection lasers for information retrieval systems was investigated experimentally. The results indicate that in such applications AlGaAs injection lasers compare favorably with He–Ne gas lasers.
