Abstract

A diffraction cell diffractofurnace for a vertical axis goniometer, permitting the recording of the diffraction patterns of neutrons of polycrystalline solids from 0° to 120° (2θ), was designed for the study of oxides at high temperature under their equilibrium atmosphere. An example is given of the diffraction pattern of cubic iron (ii) oxide or wüstite.
