Abstract
Results of a program to investigate the properties of a phase-conjugation adaptive array driven by independent laser oscillators are described. Data are presented for a five-channel linear array propagating over a 1-km range in the adaptive mode with correction of atmospheric effects. Target plane measurements indicate that near diffraction-limited performance has been achieved with a system scalable to high power levels.
