Abstract
A capping shutter actuated by an electrically exploded copper ribbon is described. It is suitable for use with very high-speed rotating mirror devices, since it has a closing time of < 5 μsec. Usable pictures may be taken even when the light intensity increases by 1000 between image repeats.
