Abstract

A novel Cassegrain spectrograph has been constructed which may be used to produce either echelle spectra or high-spectral resolution Fabry-Perot interferograms. A description of the spectrograph design is given, and results from first observational tests are used to discuss the merits and limitations of the technique for studies in high-resolution astronomical spectroscopy.
