Abstract
Absorption coefficients of chlorine-dioxide at 12C16O2 and 12C18O2 laser wavelengths have been measured using a computerized CO2 laser spectrometer. The results show that there is a large differential absorption in the 9-μm band due to the ν3 vibrational mode in the ClO2 molecule and that remote sensing of ClO2 with a sensitivity of 12 ppm · m can be performed using a long-path differential absorption technique.
