Abstract
A new one-step method of rainbow holography with no slit is described. A small translational motion imparted to the imaging lens produces the desired modulation, a sinc function, that can be used on reconstruction to obtain a rainbow hologram. The object itself remains stationary during the recording process. The basic theory and some experimental results are presented.
