Segmentation of range images using sine wave coding and Fourier transformation

Abstract

A laser scanner is used to produce a digital range image which is sine wave coded and Fourier transformed to obtain an efficient segmentation of planar and cylindrical surfaces. Extension to complex shape is also discussed.
