Exploitation of self-focusing in the operation of optically pumped molecular lasers

Abstract

We have demonstrated that in optically pumped molecular lasers, where self-focusing plays a dominant role, use of multitransverse mode pumping has a decided advantage over TEM00 mode pumping.
