Improvements in Design and Performance of the Large Aperture Lyman Flashtube

Abstract

A short duration flash source of high and reproducible intensity with usable continuum in the far ultraviolet is described. Electrical and optical studies of the source and its use to obtain absorption coefficients of argon between 450 Å and 800 Å are reported.
