Tertiary-spectrum manipulation in apochromats

Abstract

By combining achromatic and superachromatic lens groups we may achieve improved tertiary-spectrum residuals in apochromatic systems. The application of this technique is reported. The significance of a secondary spectrum and a tertiary spectrum in lens design is also reviewed.
