Abstract
A compact method for reconstructing a hologram is proposed in which the visible laser diode is used as a light source and the diffractive element is used to generate a collimated beam. The dependence of diffraction efficiency on the polarization of the beam is analyzed and the experiments with hologram reconstruction are reported.
