Abstract

A phase-stepped holographic system based on an electro-optic modulator has been developed. Subtraction holography is easily realized with our developed holographic system, so optical noise in particle fields is rejected entirely. This greatly improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the particle image and the resolution of the system. Experimental results illustrate such advantages.
