Abstract

The statistics of photoemission as computed based on a Poisson distribution of incident photons, and a binomial distribution for the photocurrent, exactly obeys a Poisson distribution so that the fluctuation in the photocurrent is just that associated with the standard deviation of a Poisson distribution. This is compared with some results in the literature.
