Quasi light fields: extending the light field to coherent radiation
Different areas of imaging have taken different approaches to formulating the formation of incoherent light images. In machine and computer vision the light field has been a useful tool because it acts as an intermediary between the camera and the picture. The current paper shows how recasting the light field in terms of scalar field theory from physical optics can both simplify understanding and strike a balance between the complexities of a full analysis and the utility of the light field.
