Abstract

A search of the literature will reveal the absence of the absorption spectra of many of the important alkaloids. The infrared spectra of a number of natural, synthetic and illicit narcotics are presented here. They were recorded on a Perkin-Elmer Model 21 Infrared Spectrophotometer. All spectra are of the substances in the solid state, mixed with potassium bromide.
