Abstract
A general spectrochemical method for determining trace amounts of lead in a variety of iron- and nickel-base alloys is presented. The lead is concentrated by co-precipitation with strontium as sulfate The internal standard, bismuth sulfate, is added to the dried precipitate. The mixture is excited using the dc arc. The coefficient of variation at the 4 ppm level is 14%, and 13% at 40 ppm
