Abstract

The usual means of preparing organic tissue for trace-element studies involves either a wet-or dryashing procedure. Unfortunately, neither method is entirely satisfactory since contamination may be difficult to control in wet ashing and it yields voluminous products, while dry ashing may allow the escape of volatile compounds.
