Abstract

A simple technique and an electronic system are described which allow an automatic scanning of the depolarization ratio in Raman spectroscopy. As a check the "parallel" and "perpendicular" spectra of the scattered Raman light can be recorded simultaneously with the depolarization ratio. The system performance is demonstrated for liquid carbon tetrachloride and carbon disulfide and the Q branch of nitrogen in air.
