Abstract
Instantaneous single-shot temperatures measured using the thermally assisted fluorescence (THAF) technique are reported for three C2H2/O2/Ar flames which range in temperature from 2200 K to 2465 K. The temperature precision of 100 single-shot THAF measurements ranges, in general, from 10 K to 60 K. Comparison with averaged THAF temperature measurements and reversal temperature values indicates the high accuracy and precision obtainable with single-shot THAF and its potential for use as a thermometric method for laboratory and turbulent flames.
