Abstract

Simultaneous Fourier transform infrared and stress-strain measurements have been applied to monitor the onset, progress, and decay of strain-induced crystallization during cyclic loading-unloading of sulfur-crosslinked natural rubber. The investigations also provided data in terms of the orientation of the average polymer and the polymer chains in the strain-induced crystal phase.
