Abstract
Recently in this research laboratory, the gas-phase, laser-initiated reactions of several alcohols have been under investigation. In the course of these investigations an unconventional gas chromatographic/Fourier transform infrared (GC/FT-IR) technique was developed. This technique was used successfully to identify an elusive chemical species by recording relatively high resolution infrared spectra and thus may be useful to other laboratories.
