Abstract
A single spectrograph with an optical line-elimination filter (OLEF) has been successfully employed for Raman spectroscopy in place of a double or a triple spectrometer. It enables us to use an optical multichannel detector with much less optical loss caused by extra apertures, gratings, and mirrors. In recent years, a few types of OLEF have been developed to suppress Rayleigh scattering in Raman spectroscopy. Our OLEF uses the intrinsic and special optical properties of the AgGaSe crystal. According to our previous studies, the AgGaSe<sub>2</sub> OLEF can eliminate the emission wavelength of commercially available AlGaAs semiconductor lasers. We constructed a compact Raman spectrometer using an AlGaAs laser diode, a single monochromator, and a AgGaSe<sub>2</sub> OLEF, and applied it to the measurement of the Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman spectra of CCl<sub>4</sub>.
