The Spectrographic Analysis of Antimony, Cadmium, and Tin in a Lead Base Alloy

Abstract

This method provides for the rapid analysis of a lead base alloy containing approximately 2% tin, 1% cadmium and 0.25 percent antimony. A high power, medium-high inductance, spark discharge excites the sample by the point to plane technique. A super-imposed spectrum is obtained consisting of 3 exposures along the cross-section of the sample. This achieves greater precision since any variation due to segregation is thereby reduced.
