Abstract

The investigation of infrared absorption spectra of various substances was a sequel to my post-graduate thesis work, at Cornell University, on the Optical Properties of Iodine [1], which included the infrared absorption spectra of thin films of iodine (solid and liquid) between matched cleavage pieces of rock salt; also solutions of iodine in alcohol and in C S2, the observations extending to 14 microns.
