Abstract
A reliable method for detecting and recording very small ion beam currents is described. A twenty-stage electron multiplier is used in conjunction with scalers and other circuitry for counting individual positive ions. Advantages and limitations of this method, as applied to mass spectrometer problems, are discussed.
