Identifying a Reputable Journal
With an increasing number of scholarly journals, as well as frequent e-mail solicitations to submit manuscripts, it may be hard for you to identify reputable journals for your submission. While some may consider a journal’s Impact Factor a good indicator of a journal’s reputation, it is really only one measure. Here are other criteria to consider:
- Recognition of the journal in the field
- The publisher or sponsoring society of the journal
- Prestige of the authors who publish in the journal
- Where the journal is indexed (e.g. Web of Science or Scopus, etc.)
