OF&T emphasizes new ideas, concepts and emerging applications in optics manufacturing and metrology. It covers topics that describe manufacturing chains from the generation of complex shapes to the fine finishing of surfaces, giving details of the process science. This meeting started as a road-show in 1974 sometimes meeting twice annually, and became a biennial topical meeting in 1990.
