Abstract
This paper proposes a three-phase electronic ballast with current-equalization
function. By properly designing the resonant tank and the values of the resonant
inductance and resonant capacitance, the current difference between lamps
can be significantly reduced. Hence, current-equalization can be achieved
by means of impedance-matching. Without an additional current-equalization
circuit, the cost of the proposed circuit is reduced due to fewer components.
The analysis and design of the proposed circuit will be presented in this
paper. Finally, the proposed three-phase electronic ballast with current-equalization
function will be implemented to validate and demonstrate the performance and
feasibility of the proposed circuit.
