The Thermoelectric Photometer of the Amherst College Observatory

Abstract

A thermoelectric photometer, designed and built at the Amherst College Observatory, is described. The instrument is much simpler and considerably less expensive than those which have been described by other authors. It contains a novel method for detecting and controlling variations in the intensity of the photometer lamp independently of the measuring galvanometer. Measures may be made more rapidly with this instrument than with the other types of thermoelectric photometers and the results are equally accurate.
