Abstract
A polystyrene replica technique, similar to that employed in electron microscopy, has been used to prepare extremely thin films of identical surface structure. These thin transparent films can be transferred to any desirable surface. Replicas made from gloss standards are shown to be reproducible in surface structure and spatial reflectance characteristics.
