Abstract

It is shown that all crystals which yield pulses under irradiation with nuclear particles or gamma-rays belong to the class of crystal phosphors. They show luminescence by irradiation in the absorption band, a power law of decay and primary and secondary photo-currents. This statement is proven for CdS, ZnS, AgCl, AgBr, TlCl, diamond of the Type 2 and solid argon.
