Abstract

To aid in establishing neon standards in the infrared, interference measurements of 23 lines in the 7059 A–8865 A region are reported. The wavelengths were compared with the neon standards in the yellow-red region. Etalons of 3.75, 7.45, 10, 15, and 25 mm were used with a Fabry-Perot interferometer. The close consistency of the measurements with the results of Meggers and Humphreys and of Burns, Adams, and Longwell suggest the suitability of these wavelengths as secondary standards.
