Abstract

Isotope shift measurements were made on Cm242 and Cm244. Both samples had an isotopic purity of better than 90%. Measurements were made in the spectral region between 3050 and 5250 A. One hundred and eighty-three lines of curium were recorded, one hundred and forty-eight of which showed isotope shift. Both positive and negative shifts were found. The magnitude of the shift ranged up to 1.31 kaysers.
