Technique for Calculating Infrared Absorptance by a Regular Band

Abstract

An analytical technique which can be used to derive effective total line intensities in a regular band has been developed. These intensities can, in turn, be used to calculate atmospheric transmittance. The calculations are of such length that electronic computers are required for the work. The results are given in terms of an atmospheric absorptance curve which agrees well with the experimental data.
