Abstract

Results of NPL measurements previously reported to the 10th IAU in 1958 are recalculated to give values of wavelengths as observed through the anode end of an Engelhard dc lamp and some possible systematic effects are discussed. The measurements are compared with others made by Kaufman and Phelps and it is found that means of the three sets of data may be relied upon to 0.0001 Å.
