Abstract
The emission spectrum of ten molecular bands of the Lyman–Birge–Hopfield system (a1Πg−X1∑g+) of nitrogen have been obtained at high resolution in the 32nd–43rd orders of a 5-m vacuum spectrograph in the region 1383–1810 Å with a wavenumber error of less than 0.02 cm−1. The energy values of the v = 0, 1, and 2 levels of the a1Π state and the v = 0, 4, 5, and 6 levels of the X1∑ ground state are given along with the corresponding rotational constants and band origins.
