Abstract

Image-forming capabilities have been analyzed theoretically for a fiber assembly used as a dynamic scanner. This has been done by analyzing the images of incoherent rectangular- and triangular-wave objects with periodic structure. Fibers with circular and square cross sections have been considered and a method has been suggested to measure the modulation transfer function of the fiber bundle.
